self- portrait
This portrait represents me because it tells alot about my culture. There is a jamaican flag on my forehead because my parents are from jamaica and much of that culture is a part of me. Also will notice the chinky eyes, many people notcice that about my eyes and that is because my grandfather is chinese. Also, even though the portrait is meant to be abstract, i think it looks alot like me.
Devin's self-portrait
I drew this picture of me using oil pastel. The colors represent my moods. The blue half is the calm and collective part of my personality. The green half represent my creative and inventive side. I know green doesn't usually mean that but it's also my favorite color. The back ground are the pieces of my life. I really didn't want the red cause it takes away the focus of the picture but I ran out of colors to use. An the orange neck is my wild and crazy side. I choose the neck because it is the smallest part of the picture.
Jessica Donehoo's Self Portrait
I put together this collage of stuff for my self portrait. I feel like all these objects represent me and who I am. I chose the Georgia t-shirt because I am a UGA fan and went there my freshman year of college. The softball is because I love sports and softball is my favorite sport. I love watching movies and "Dirty Dancing" is one of my favorite movies ever. The CD is because I love all kinds of music, and the O'Charleys book is because I work there and spend most of my time there. And, I love taking pictures so I chose to put a camera on here, and I never go anywhere without my cell phone so that is a big part of my life as well.
Meghan Odom Self-Portrait
I started out with a smiley face cause i am always smiling and always happy, and then i drew some music notes on there cause i love music, i can't function without it. After that I just started circling it with my markers cause i feel like my life has become so much more colorful since i started college, and lastly i drew this little cartoon guy my friend made dancing, cause i love to dance. This is my self-portrait.
*Nikki Nasworthy's Self-Portrait*
This is my interpretation of my self-portrait. I put together a collage of items that describe me or are part of me. My Kroger name tag and plus card are on here because I am always at work. My favorite type of gum-- Eclipse Polar Ice. A clipping of Grey's Anatomy, a pic of myself, a cd with my nick name on it cause I love anykind and everykind of music. Also an empty case of contacts, which I wear. My iPod because it's my favorite thing ever and a pic of an iPhone, which I wish I could have. And also, my stethoscope because I'm in nursing school and this will be my main tool.

"How I view myself" -JoAnna Valdiviezo
I chose this image of a tie dye tapestry to represent how I view myself because, just like the tapestry started out blank, I was also blank in the beggining. Every swirl of color represents something I have experienced, which has made me who I am today. The colors sometimes blend together, just as human experiences sometimes do. Some of the colors are pretty and bright, just like the good in my life, and the darker ones represent the bad, yet together they make a perfect blend. There is plenty of blank space and nothing preventing more dye from being added, just like I am open to experience life to its fullest extent.
How i see myself
I chose to put this picture of my dog because i think i am a lot like him in many ways. See how happy he looks? well he always looks like this. He is the sweetest, friendliest dog ever, always looking for something new to do and loves people. I think that i am a genuinely nice and happy person. I am constantly smiling, seldom will you find me in a bad mood and even if i am, it takes nothing for me to get over it. I am very friendly and love being with friends or my family.
I also chose this picture of a blossoming rose that a friend drew me. I did this because i think this represents my situation now because like the rose, i too am blossoming into the woman i am going to be in the future, mentally, physically and emotionally. i think that my college experience will have a big influence on the type of person i am going to be. I can aleady see a huge transformation from the girl i used to be in high school to the young lady i am becoming now.
How I View Myself- Jessica Donehoo
I chose the first image to represent how I view myself because it is a picture of me and some of my friends. I am a very friendly person and am always hanging out with my friends. My friends are a very important part of my life. Also, the second picture is a picture of my room that I thought represented me well because I am a very organized person. I usually try to keep my room clean and organized.
I took a picture of a wall and a door. I chose to view myself as a wall because like a wall I always feel something is weighing down on me. Whether it is a school assignment or a test or another of life's pressures I just have to stand there like the wall and keep the roof from falling down in my life. I chose the door because my life seems to be pretty much the same thing over and over. Like the job of a door its only purpose it to open and close. This seems pretty reflective to my job as a student my purpose is to study, test, repeat.
Devin's Insight of Herself
Ok, the top picture is a picture of these bugs attached to a tree (which we found out later were empty shells). I choose this picture cause I am a very curious person. I'm always taking pictures of things that unusual or weird. The bottom picture is a picture of some clouds. I choose this picture because I see myself as a thinker a dreamer. My head is always in the clouds as my dad likes to say. I very deep in my thinking and perspective of things.
Devin's Graffitti
Me and Tonya went to Atlanta one weekend. And we stopped at a friends house and on the side of her house someone had drew graffitti over the basement windows. I believe this would be consideres art. I don't know if it has a deeper meaning behind it or if it expresses anything, I just found it interesting that someone would put graffitti on someones house when they still lived there.

Graffiti
I found this graffiti on train cars in Abbeville, GA my home town. There were at least 75 train cars and all of them had graffiti most with graffiti on both sides. I don't know if there were multiple artist I guesing there would have to be. I don't think there is any real meaning behind this graffiti just the artist having fun with his or her art.

Tonya's graffitti
I found this image on the side of a building in the west end of atlanta. I have stared at it over and over again and i can see some letters but i still haven't been able to figure out what it is saying. Perhaps the artist was trying to hide the message. I definetly consider this art, even though there is nothing formal about it; it clearly took time and some kind of artistic ability because i really don't think that just anyone could produce this. I know i couldn't.
Nikki Nasworthy -- Grafitti Assignment
This is a pic of my friend Jake Scott. He is a grafitti artist from Nashville, TN. I took pictures of his art the last time I visited, which was during the summer. He has been painting for 5 years now and is very talented. I do believe grafitti is an art form because someone (an artist) is creating something and using it to express themselves.
This picture was taken in Atlanta. It is hard to see, but the wall behind the railroad tracks is covered with graffiti. I am not sure what all the words mean, but the say things like "Say Ten" and "JACE". I do think it is considered art because the words are pretty detailed and are not only letters, but also have a decorative background for the words too. The graffiti covers the entire wall.
